Established in 1612, it has a popupation nearing 60,000 and is the Northern most municipality, it boarders with the Province of Pangasinan to the North and East and the Zambales Municipality of Candelaria to the South.

Tourist Attractions:

Sagrada Familia Caves: This vast system of limestine caves are vastly unexplored and untouched, rumors are that some of the caves lead to underground rivers. It is a reasonable hike to the area, but well worth the visit.
On the way to the caves, there is also a view deck area that offers a great view of the coast and nearby islands.

Hermana Mayor Island and Hermana Menor Island, rumored to become the next Boracay.
The old Acoe Mine site is also interesting. It is located high in the Zambales Mountains. It was one of the largest chromate mines in Zambales, supposably with some of the highest grades of the ore available. However, with the advent of plastics and the decline for the use of finished chromium, especially in the Auto industry, the mine ceased operation in the mid to late 1900's. The township is quite spectacular, with hospital, schools and churches, now mostly abandoned. It also has an airstrip. The area was reforested in the late 1890's and has some spectacular scenery along with a Baguio-like climate. It is a shame that this has not been transformed into a tourist development project.
